Organization Name: Arthur Moke Whānau Trust Manaaki mai, Manaaki atu

Person Name: Julie Nathan and Bella Moke

Location: Rotorua

This is an initiative that informs whānau about suicide and prevention and assists them through the trauma of losing a loved one to suicide. Easing the impact of suicide and strengthening resilience is the essence of our kaupapa. Manaaki Mai have run whānau wananga in Northland, Rotorua and Wellington since 2019 with positive feedback. Ongoing professional training and upskilling has been key to ensuring the messages shared with whānau align with our whānau beliefs, values, priorities and needs. Manaaki Mai Manaaki Atu wants to do more than just raise awareness, we want to inspire hope through encouraging whānau to step up and share their inspiring stories of recovery and to let whānau know that help is available. Where and how this help is able to be accessed, and what worked for them will be part of the key messages to pass on.
