Whānau are the solution to Ora.

Tiaki Whānau, Tiaki Ora is for whānau by whānau approach to suicide prevention.  This wānanga deliberately reaches whānau Māori in their homes. We believe that whānau have the answers and they are the solution to Ora.

TIAKI WHĀNAU TIAKI ORA CHAMPIONS

Whānau Champions are identified in communities across the country to deliver Tiaki Whānau Tiaki Ora toolkits into whānau homes.

Tiaki Whānau Tiaki Ora toolkits have been developed to give whānau tools to help them through hard times.

The Centre will provide ongoing support for Whānau Champions.

We’re happy to announce we have reached our initial goal of resourcing 1000 whānau homes through the Whānau Champions initiative. We are now looking at these resources reaching another 1500 whānau homes.

TIAKI WHĀNAU TIAKI ORA WĀNANGA

Tiaki Whānau, Tiaki Ora is a one-day wānanga and programme designed to build healthy whānau by increasing their awareness of risk factors to suicide and building strategies that will strengthen whānau resilience and wellbeing. The basis of the programme is whānaungatanga and respectful information sharing.
