This project aims to have members of this whānau participate in Māori workshops and activities which will promote ownership of Māori wellbeing and suicide prevention. We know that this is best served by kinship connections of the whānau, hapū and iwi.

Because of lived experience, a sense of urgency has been ignited and we feel it is now time to gather to pray, talk, sing, tell and listen to stories, to share, and to create “never to be forgotten memories” that edify and strengthen the spirit of healing. Learnings from whakapapa stories that hold strong to the traditions of our tupuna are great examples of tikanga, where mana, mauri and tapu are maintained for, and by, all participants in these wānanga.
