E Tū Tātau

Henderson: Tamaki-mā-kau-rau

Teen parenting can be one of the most challenging, especially so when young parents have experienced trauma in their childhood or within their relationships where they experience additional mental and emotional stress.

E Tu Tātau is a model developed so that there is acknowledgement, recognition and acceptance of the unique challenges of being a teenage parent. With a focus on building resilience and confidence among teenage parents, the programme supports these Teens to stand tall and be brave while on a journey to heal themselves and their whānau.
The E Tū Tātau kaupapa mission is to establish a model of care, that supports and improves whānau wellbeing through connectedness. This kaupapa Māori programme builds resilience through informative and interactive activities centred on the needs of these Teen parents & their whānau.

Organisation:  E Tipu E Rea Whānau Services

*This whānau initiative is proudly supported by Te Au (and Te Rau Ora) through the Māori Suicide Prevention Fund (2020-2021).
